How to use the bingo number generator

How to use the bingo number generator: choose 75 or 90-ball, call a number or start auto-call, read the current number
Numbered steps on the Bingo Number Generator. Follow them in order.
  1. Choose 75-ball (B I N G O) or 90-ball bingo.
  2. Press Call next number to draw a number.
  3. Or start auto-call to draw on a timer, from every 3 to 20 seconds.
  4. Tick Read numbers aloud to have each call spoken.
  5. Read the current number and its letter, and track calls on the board.

Choose 75-ball for the B-I-N-G-O game common in Canada and the United States, or 90-ball for the version popular in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. Press Call next number to draw a number. The current call is shown large, the previous five calls are listed underneath, and the board marks every number that has been called so you can check a winning card in seconds.

For a hands-free game, choose an interval and press Start auto-call. Tick Read numbers aloud to have your device announce each call using its built-in voice, which is handy for classrooms, video calls and seniors' events. Press New game to clear the board and reshuffle.

How the numbers are drawn

At the start of each game the generator shuffles all the numbers with the Fisher-Yates method, using your browser's cryptographic random source, and then deals them one at a time. Like balls drawn from a cage, a number can never be called twice in the same game, and every remaining number is equally likely to come next.

chance a particular number is next = 1 ÷ numbers not yet called
chance a particular number is called within the first k calls = k ÷ N

In a 75-ball game, after 20 calls there are 55 numbers left, so each has a 1 in 55 chance (1.8%) of being next. The chance that your number comes up somewhere in the first 30 calls is 30 ÷ 75 = 40%. In a 90-ball game, the same 30 calls cover 30 ÷ 90 = 33.3% of the numbers.

A 75-ball card is a 5 by 5 grid with a free space in the middle. Players usually win by completing a line across, down or diagonally, although many halls play patterns such as four corners, a picture frame or a blackout, where every number on the card must be called.

How 90-ball bingo works

In 90-ball bingo, each ticket has 3 rows and 9 columns. Every row holds 5 numbers, so a ticket has 15 numbers. The first column covers 1 to 9, the next 10 to 19, and so on up to 80 to 90. Games are usually played for three prizes in turn: one line, two lines and a full house. The board on this page is laid out in rows of ten so callers can check tickets quickly.

Tips for running a bingo game

  • Announce the game type and winning pattern before the first call.
  • Read each call clearly, with the letter in 75-ball games, and pause long enough for slower players.
  • When someone calls bingo, check their numbers against the highlighted board rather than relying on memory.
  • For classrooms, use 75-ball with auto-call at 8 to 12 seconds, or use bingo cards with vocabulary or math answers that match each number.
  • Keep the screen visible to players. Seeing the board builds trust that the calls are fair.

This tool is for home, school, community and charity games. Gaming rules for money prizes vary by province and country, so check local regulations before running a paid game.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bingo number generator random and fair?

Yes. All numbers are shuffled with your browser's cryptographic random source at the start of each game and dealt one at a time, so no number repeats and each remaining number is equally likely to be next.

What numbers go with each letter in bingo?

In 75-ball bingo, B is 1 to 15, I is 16 to 30, N is 31 to 45, G is 46 to 60 and O is 61 to 75.

What is the difference between 75-ball and 90-ball bingo?

75-ball bingo uses a 5 by 5 card with a free center and is common in North America. 90-ball bingo uses tickets with 3 rows of 5 numbers and is popular in the UK and Australia.

Can the generator call numbers automatically?

Yes. Choose an interval from 3 to 20 seconds and press Start auto-call. Tick Read numbers aloud to hear each call through your device's voice.

How many calls does a bingo game usually take?

It depends on the number of players and the winning pattern. With many cards in play, a single line is often won after a few dozen calls, while a blackout takes much longer.
