How to Use the Vaporwave Text Generator

- Type a word, song title or phrase.
- Pick a Japanese tag such as 美学 (aesthetics), or No tag.
- Choose Sunset, Miami or Lilac colors for the poster.
- Download the poster as a 1200 by 675 PNG.
- Copy the fullwidth text or another vaporwave style.
Type a word, a song title or a short phrase. Nine vaporwave styles update as you type, from classic fullwidth text to spaced letters, lenticular brackets, shade blocks and a Japanese tag. Pick a tag such as 美学 (aesthetics) or 東京 (Tokyo) from the menu, then press Copy on the card you want. The poster on the left redraws with your words, a striped sunset and a neon grid, and Download poster PNG saves it at 1200 × 675 pixels for a thumbnail, a story or a playlist cover.
What Fullwidth Text Is
Vaporwave text uses fullwidth characters. They exist because Chinese, Japanese and Korean text is set on a square grid, and Latin letters typed alongside it needed versions that fill a whole square. Unicode keeps them in the Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block. Every printable keyboard character from ! to ~ has a fullwidth twin exactly 65,248 code points higher, and the space has its own wide version, the ideographic space.
space → ideographic space U+3000
Worked Example
The capital M is U+004D. Adding U+FEE0 gives U+FF2D, the fullwidth capital M (M). The small i is U+0069, which becomes U+FF49 (i). The default text "Midnight Drive" therefore becomes Midnight Drive, and with the 美学 tag it reads Midnight Drive 美学. The spaced style simply puts one space between letters and three between words: M i d n i g h t D r i v e.

Making a Vaporwave Poster
The poster is drawn on a canvas in your browser in four layers. First a sun with a two-color gradient is cut by horizontal stripes that get thicker toward the horizon. Then the sky gradient is painted behind it, a dark floor is added below the horizon, and a glowing grid is drawn in perspective: horizontal lines get further apart as they come closer, and the vertical lines all meet at one vanishing point in the middle. Your text is set in heavy capitals with a soft neon glow and shrinks automatically so long titles always fit. Switch between the Sunset, Miami and Lilac palettes to match your cover art or channel colors.
The Vaporwave Aesthetic in Brief
Vaporwave began as an internet music genre in the early 2010s, built from slowed and looped samples of 1980s and 1990s pop, smooth jazz and shopping-mall music. Its visual style borrows from the same era: pink and cyan gradients, sunsets over neon grids, early computer graphics, classical statues and Japanese text. Wide letters are part of that look because they recall early computer typesetting and Japanese advertising.
About the Japanese Tags
The tags are short, common words: 美学 means aesthetics, 夢 means dream, 東京 is Tokyo and ネオン is the katakana spelling of neon. They are meant as decoration in the vaporwave tradition. If you use Japanese text, keep it respectful and accurate, and do not add words you cannot check.
Tips and Limits
- Fullwidth text is roughly twice as wide as normal text, so long phrases wrap quickly on phones. Keep it to a few words.
- Some sites, including many username fields, reject fullwidth characters. Use the spaced letters style there.
- Screen readers usually read fullwidth letters correctly, but spaced letters are read one by one, so avoid spacing out important words.
- The poster uses your device fonts for Japanese tags. On the rare system without a Japanese font, choose No tag before downloading.
Frequently asked questions
How do I type in aesthetic vaporwave text?
Type your words in the box and copy the Fullwidth card. Each letter is replaced with its fullwidth twin, which gives the wide, evenly spaced look used in vaporwave captions, playlists and bios.
What is the difference between fullwidth and spaced text?
Fullwidth uses special wide characters, so words stay together and look like one piece. Spaced text uses normal letters with spaces in between, which works where wide characters are blocked but is read letter by letter.
What do the Japanese words mean?
美学 means aesthetics, 夢 means dream, 東京 means Tokyo and ネオン is neon written in katakana. They are common decorative words in vaporwave art and you can switch them off.
Can I use the poster image for my channel or playlist?
Yes. The poster is drawn in your browser and is free to use for thumbnails, playlist covers, stories and posts. It is 1200 by 675 pixels, which fits the common 16 by 9 shape.
Why does fullwidth text not work in my username?
Many platforms only allow basic letters, numbers, periods and underscores in usernames, so fullwidth characters are rejected or converted back. Use them in display names, bios and captions instead.
Does vaporwave text work in Discord?
Yes. Fullwidth text, shade blocks and brackets all work in Discord messages, nicknames, channel topics and server names. Channel names may convert some characters, so preview the result before you save it.
