Type a name, a nickname or a short line. Choose a Font and a Frame, and the large preview shows the finished special text, for example ꧁ 𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓪 ꧂. Tap any symbol in the palette to drop it in at the cursor, such as a star before your name or a heart after it. Press Copy special text to copy the whole result, frame included.
Below the preview, all 24 fonts are listed with your text so you can compare them at a glance and copy any single style without a frame.
What Makes Text Special
Special fonts are not fonts in the usual sense. Social apps, games and chat programs show text in their own typeface, so the generator replaces each letter with a different Unicode character that already looks styled: a bold letter from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, a circled letter from Enclosed Alphanumerics, or a small capital from the phonetic letters. Frames and symbols come from other Unicode blocks, such as Javanese punctuation for ꧁ ꧂, Tibetan marks for ༺ ༻ and CJK brackets for 『 』.
bold script capital = U+1D4D0 + (letter position − 1)
Worked Example
For "Luna" in bold script: L is the 12th letter, so it becomes U+1D4D0 + 11 = U+1D4DB (𝓛). The small letters start at U+1D4EA, so u, the 21st letter, is U+1D4EA + 20 = U+1D4FE (𝓾). The word becomes 𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓪. Adding the Javanese frame gives ꧁ 𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓪 ꧂, which is 8 characters but 12 UTF-16 units, because each styled letter is stored as two units. The counter under the preview shows both numbers, since some apps count units rather than characters.
Popular Frames and Where They Come From
| Frame | Example | Unicode source |
|---|---|---|
| Javanese rerenggan | ꧁ 𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓪 ꧂ | Javanese script punctuation, U+A9C1 and U+A9C2 |
| Tibetan marks | ༺ ℒ𝓊𝓃𝒶 ༻ | Tibetan gug rtags, U+0F3A and U+0F3B |
| Star trail | ★彡 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮 彡★ | Black star plus the CJK character 彡 |
| Corner brackets | 『 Luna 』 | CJK white corner brackets |
| Moon pair | ☾ ʟᴜɴᴀ ☽ | First and last quarter moon symbols |
Using the Special Symbols Palette
The palette holds 48 symbols that are popular in names and bios: stars, hearts, flowers, moons, weather, music notes, chess crowns, arrows and check marks. Each button inserts its symbol where your cursor is, so you can build patterns such as a star on each side of a name or a heart between two words. Symbols are not restyled by the font, so they look the same in every style.
A few symbols, including the umbrella, the anchor and the coffee cup, also have emoji versions. Phones may show them in color, while computers often show a simple black glyph. For a consistent look, preview the result on the device your audience uses most, or choose symbols such as ★, ✦ and ♡ that rarely switch to emoji.
Special Name Ideas

- Cute nickname: ♡ Ⓜⓘⓐ ♡
Tips for Special Names
- Check the length. Game and app name fields often have tight limits, and frames add several characters.
- Usernames are stricter than display names. Handles usually allow only basic letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so use special text in the display name or bio.
- Pick readable fonts for names. Bold script, bold sans and small caps stay readable at small sizes. Fraktur and mirrored text are better for short accents.
- Preview on two devices. A frame that looks perfect on one phone can show as boxes on an older computer that lacks the font.
Limits and Accessibility
Only the letters A to Z and the digits 0 to 9 have styled versions, and some sets are incomplete. Superscript has no q, and filled squares exist only as capitals. Screen readers announce special characters by name or skip them, so keep important information in normal text. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a special name with symbols?
Type your name, pick a font and a frame, and tap symbols in the palette to add them where the cursor is. The preview shows the finished name, and Copy special text copies it ready to paste into a game or app.
Why does my special name show as boxes?
The device viewing the name lacks a font that contains one of the characters. Styled letters work on current phones, but rarer frames such as Javanese or Tibetan marks may appear as boxes on older systems.
Can I use special fonts in usernames?
Usernames and handles usually allow only basic letters, digits, periods and underscores, so special characters are rejected there. Use them in display names, nicknames, bios, captions and chat messages instead.
Why does the counter show two numbers?
The first number counts characters as you see them. The second counts UTF-16 units, the way many apps store text. Styled letters and many symbols take two units, so a name can hit an app limit sooner than expected.
What is the ꧁ ꧂ symbol called?
They are Javanese punctuation marks called left and right rerenggan, code points U+A9C1 and U+A9C2. Their ornate shape made them a popular frame for gaming names, even though they come from the Javanese script.
Is the special font generator free and private?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and every style is created by JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored, so you can try as many names as you like.
