How to use the cursive text generator

- Type or paste your text, such as a name, bio or caption.
- Press Clear to start over with new text.
- Pick a style, from classic script to bold cursive, and press Copy to paste it anywhere.
Type or paste your text. Eight cursive and slanted styles appear instantly. Press Copy beside the one you like, then paste it into an Instagram bio, a TikTok caption, a Discord nickname or a message. Your text stays on your device because the conversion runs in your browser.
Cursive or italic?
Cursive imitates joined-up handwriting: loops, entry strokes and flowing capitals. Italic is a slanted version of an ordinary typeface. This generator offers both:
| Style | Sample | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| Script | 𝒜𝓂ℯ𝓁𝒾𝒶 | Classic handwritten cursive, light and elegant |
| Bold script | 𝓐𝓶𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓪 | Heavier cursive that reads well on small screens |
| Script initials, italic body | 𝓐𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑎 | Signature look with a cursive first letter |
| Italic serif | 𝐴𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑎 | Book-style slanted text |
| Italic sans | 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢 | Clean, modern slant |
How cursive Unicode works
Social apps do not let you choose a font, so this generator replaces each letter with a separate Unicode character that is drawn in a script style. The characters come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Eleven script letters were encoded earlier in the Letterlike Symbols block, and the generator uses those official code points.
script small = U+1D4B6 + (letter position − 1)
bold script capital = U+1D4D0 + (position − 1), bold script small = U+1D4EA + (position − 1)
Example
For "Amelia", A is letter 1, so the script capital is U+1D49C (𝒜). The small m is letter 13: U+1D4B6 + 12 = U+1D4C2 (𝓂). The small e is an exception and uses SCRIPT SMALL E, U+212F (ℯ). The complete word is 𝒜𝓂ℯ𝓁𝒾𝒶.
Cursive names and signatures
A cursive name looks good in a bio or an email footer, but it is not a legal signature. For documents, sign by hand or use an e-signature service. For profile names, try the bold script style: thin script strokes can look faint at small sizes, while bold script stays legible.
Where these characters work
Because the result is plain Unicode text, it pastes into most places that accept emoji. In practice it usually works in:
- Instagram: bio, display name, captions and comments. Usernames only allow basic letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
- TikTok: profile bio, display name, captions and comments.
- Discord: messages, nicknames, channel topics and server descriptions.
- X, Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp: posts, bios and messages.
Apps can change what they accept at any time, and some strip or replace unusual characters in names. Older phones and computers may show empty boxes when a font on the device does not include a symbol, so preview your text on a second device before using it somewhere important.
Accessibility and search caveats
Screen readers do not treat these symbols as ordinary letters. Depending on the reader and platform, a styled word may be read out one character at a time with names such as "mathematical bold capital H", or skipped completely. People who rely on assistive technology can miss your message entirely.
- Use styled text for short decorative accents, not for whole posts, names people need to find or important details like dates, prices and links.
- Do not style hashtags or keywords. Search features match normal letters, so styled words are usually not found in search.
- Where the platform offers real formatting, such as bold in Discord Markdown or in a document editor, use that instead because it stays accessible.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write in cursive on Instagram?
Type your text above, copy a cursive style and paste it into your Instagram bio, name, caption or comment. Instagram does not offer fonts, so Unicode characters are used.
Can I copy cursive text into Discord?
Yes. Cursive Unicode works in Discord messages, nicknames and server names. For accessibility, keep important information in normal text.
Why do a few cursive letters look different?
Eleven script letters, such as ℯ and ℴ, come from an older Unicode block, and some fonts draw them in a slightly different style. Bold script has no exceptions.
Are cursive numbers available?
No. Unicode has no script digits, so numbers stay in the normal font.
Can I use cursive text as my signature?
You can use it for a decorative name in an email footer or profile, but it is not a handwritten or legally binding signature.
